The last few weeks have been really busy for me. I’ve been gigging left right and centre, writing new songs and working hard to promote my single. (shameless plug - it is out on the 15th of May). Anyway, this week sees me heading to oxford to play a live set on the university radio, I’m looking forward to that! Reminds me of when I used to do it at uni all that time ago (all of 18 months), although this time I’ll have to be rather professional as its not just my friends I’m larking around with in the studio! On Wednesday I have a gig at a really cool venue in London called 12Bar, I had been trying to get in there for a while so am super happy I can play, I hope its a gooden.

What else, I’ve been applying to festivals in the hope I can play a few of those in the summer, even one would be AMAZING, but we’ll have to wait and see, I’m praying to god because I really really REALLY would love to do that. I’d even play in a one man tent, At least I can still say I played a festival! Even the porta-loo, can you tell I’m a wee bit desperate? (See my word play there?) My name is Elizabeth and I’m a singer/songwriter based in London. I’m 22 years old and have recently changed my ’stage name’ to Lizzyspit. After a few reviewers suggested I use a second name as well as Elizabeth, I thought back to an old nickname I was given as a child, I think it’s rather amusing! Anyway, over the past year I’ve been working on my live performances and have been doing as many gigs as possible throughout London. Although my microphone ‘chat’ still leaves a lot to be desired, I’m beginning to get really confident on stage and belt out a decent set. I’m finally beginning to establish myself on the London gig circuit and gather a following.

On the 15th of May my first single, Laura’s Diary is going to be released on my own label ’spit records’. This is really exciting as it means it is chart eligible. I’m going to be following up the single with an album release in September 08. I’ll be working hard over the next few months to promote Laura’s Diary wherever I can, so fingers crossed something good will happen!
