How would you describe your youth organisation?
We work with individuals and organisations that provide music making activities for young people. This is done through projects, training, linking people together and making sure decision makers know how important good music activities are for young people.
How does your organisation help young people?
We support our members to run projects for young people in music activities.
How many young people do you help?
Lots! As we support organisations across London lots of young people are able to get involved.
How big is your organisation?
We are about 4 and a half people! We then recruit freelance people to look after specific tasks when we need them.
What types of young people do you work with?
Everyone - particularly those who are disadvantaged.
When was your organisation set up?
2004
Why was it set up?
There have always been lots of community based organizations delivering music to young people but they did pt work together as a sector or have a strong voice to make decision makers appreciate the work that was happening - its our job to do this!
What have been the highlights and the achievements of the organisation so far?
There are lots - from individual young people have life changing experiences through involvement on one of our projects to securing large funding to make new activities happen.
What are the plans for the organisation this year?
To continue to support more young people in making music and to encourage these young people to be more involved in the decision making process that shapes this work.
